'What's Cooking with Celine' header.

Hello and welcome to What’s Cooking with Celine. I’m Celine – a bookworm who also likes to talk about food, nature and travel.

What’s cooking? What’s that about?

This started out as a food-centred newsletter. Then I started writing about books, because I love to read. And nature connection, because I’m a hippy.

Now, I’d describe this as a deep examination of what makes up a good life, in chaotic times. With a sprinkle of woo woo and a healthy dose of let’s say, skepticism.

I don’t feel like I have all of the answers. I’m just sitting in nature reading books, going for long walks, writing and trying to figure things out.

I’d love for you to join me for this wild ride.

These are some of my favourite posts:

Why sign up to a newsletter?

A content creator by trade, I’ve been blogging and freelance writing/editing online for around ten years. Over this time, social media and SEO has changed the way we find and consume media, and from a writing perspective, the way we craft it – in a way that certainly hurts my soul.

In short, I miss the old days of blogging, of having an engaged audience who cared what you were putting out and followed you simply because they like the way you write, your ‘voice’.

A platform like Substack offers up a chance to create content that is full of personality, rather than the content-farm like stuff we see coming out of websites nowadays – without throwing up recent AI advances into the equation. Have the people working on this not seen The Terminator, I ask?!

Thanks for reading!

What’s Cooking with Celine is primarily researched and written on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to the Traditional Owners and their Elders (past and present), and recognise sovereignty was never ceded. Australia always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
