Hello! I’m Celine and I write about books, cooking, gardening and surviving life in the city, with a wild heart. Subscribe, for access to exclusive content like this. Very happy to have you here, either way.

Important to say straight off the bat; I don’t find meditation to be a magical, one-size-fits all solution to every issue life throws at us.

Rather, it’s a useful tool that works in conjunction with the other elements that make up good physical and mental health – a nutritious diet, adequate hydration, regular exercise/movement, good sleep hygiene, a strong social support network, etc.

A tool that you can wield to rather astonishing results. Which we’re going to explore over the course of a two-part series within this newsletter (with an option to extend, if this content lands well).

While I’ve made the bulk of this post available to paid subscribers only, I have included a free meditation for all, as a thank you to everyone who reads What’s Cooking.

A paid membership not only compensates writers for the time spent on resources like this newsletter – it’s affirmation that people support and are interested in one’s work. Good feels all-round!

If you have the means, please subscribe to What’s Cooking.

Enjoy the meditation – I may create more in the future if this one has a good response, as they are quite fun to put together.

You can listen to this while sitting in your favourite chair, or in a garden, while on a walk, or right before you go to bed.

Maybe worth noting here, I’m not a teacher of meditation (although I hope to be some day, as a complement to my yoga teacher training). As a hopefully lifelong student of the practice and a writer, I’m just keen to read facts, take my own life experience and personal observations, and smoosh it together in what is hopefully a thoughtful exploration, here in this newsletter.

What are the benefits of a regular meditation practice?

So, what does science have to say about meditation?
