Great write-up, good to see literary stalwarts like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears still doing great work.

I always enjoy your book picks, LC! I loved Wifedom. So crazy that Orwell swept her under the rug. I’m a little concerned we haven’t moved as far forward as we should have since the Spanish Civil War.

Oh I'm so glad you liked it. It is very concerning. And I feel very differently about his work now and the work about him - which is a shame, as I've had Rebecca Solnit's 'Orwell's Roses' sitting on my TBR for ages, and someone has just published a travel book based around his life and work that looks good (The Orwell Tour by Oliver Lewis). Le sigh.
