More thought-full books for a new year
Turns out there are enough inspiring books out there for a part two.
It’s perhaps around late January that the new year buzz kinda starts to fade a little.
That weird in between time of the end of one year and the beginning of another has passed, and taken its magic with it. You’re probably back at work, back in what feels like the monotony of every day life.
Your resolutions may be lying in the dust. Your evening routine, in tatters.
All hope is not lost, however. Maybe you just need a little gentle encouragement, in the form of the written word.
Whatever your goals this year, there’s usually some book out there, waiting for you to pick it up, so you can flip through its pages and allow it to inspire you.
Here’s a collection of books I’ve read both recently and over time, that were not only pleasant to flick through, or gave me a kick up the bum I needed at the time, but left me with plenty of food for thought.

Charlotte Wood’s The Luminous Solution is an excellent place to start if you need a bit of creative inspiration. Through this collection of essays, Wood unpacks the craft of writing; observations gained over a career that has spanned some twenty years and produced ten books.
